FROM FIRST CHOICE TO DRAGON BOND
How to take the Threshing Quiz
Choose what feels like you
The Threshing Quiz follows twelve situations through Basgiath training, Threshing and an imagined bond. Pick the response closest to what you would do. You do not need to recall book facts or hunt for a correct answer: this is a personality match.
Review, then meet your dragon
Go back while answering and review all twelve choices before the reveal. Your Threshing Quiz result explains the match using things you actually chose, with strengths and a challenge to consider in your imagined partnership. Nothing is locked in when you select an option.
Keep a card or compare with friends
Download a square or story-size card, add an optional name, or share a link to your dragon type. The link shows the type rather than your answers. Use the downloaded card when you want to share your personalized version.
Torn between two answers? Think about what you usually do when a decision has a cost, rather than the choice that sounds most heroic. A dragon quiz is more interesting when the result reflects your instincts. You can revisit the question if a later situation helps you understand your preference.
Ready to meet your match? Take the dragon quiz above, then use the color and tail notes below to explore your result.
READ YOUR MATCH
What your dragon quiz result tells you
Your Threshing Quiz result pairs a color with a tail type. It offers six colors and five adult tail forms, making 30 possible matches. They are different partnerships, not a leaderboard: a black dragon is not a better score, and an orange dragon is not a judgment of your character.
The color notes describe tendencies from the setting. The rider qualities beside them show how this quiz explores compatibility. A rider and a dragon can complement each other without having identical personalities.

Red dragon
Fierce and quick to anger.
Your choices: Choosing to act despite fear.

Green dragon
Rational, with a keen intellect.
Your choices: Looking closely before reaching a conclusion.

Brown dragon
Known for loyalty; sensitive to signs of fear.
Your choices: Showing up for someone when it costs you.

Black dragon
Rare, perceptive and cunning.
Your choices: Making an honest judgment of your own.

Orange dragon
Notoriously unpredictable.
Your choices: Finding another way when plans fall apart.

Blue dragon
Formidable in size and ruthlessness.
Your choices: Holding your ground under pressure.
What does the tail type mean?
A tail is a physical feature and weapon. In the Threshing Quiz, it adds a playful interpretation of how you approach a challenge, separate from your color match.
- Swordtail
- A blade-like tail used as a weapon.
- Clubtail
- A heavy, club-shaped striking tail.
- Daggertail
- A tail ending in a sharp, dagger-like weapon.
- Scorpiontail
- A tail with a scorpion-like point.
- Morningstartail
- A spiked, morningstar-like tail.
The portraits illustrate color and atmosphere; check the separate tail description for your exact pairing.
Read the explanation, not just the label
Look at the choices quoted in your Threshing Quiz result. They explain what tipped your match toward that color. When another color is close, you will also see that connection. You can explore the result’s six-color field guide without changing your answers.
Two friends can share a color and still get different tails or explanations. For a more interesting comparison, talk about the decisions you disagreed on rather than trying to win the rarest dragon. The same answers produce the same result in this version of the Threshing Quiz.
A surprising match can be a useful conversation starter. Compare the explanation with how you act under pressure, protect a friend or respond to a setback. Keep what feels recognizable; a dragon quiz result is an invitation to imagine a partnership, not a fixed label for your personality.

Dragonkind Threshing Day or a personality quiz?
Looking for a Rebecca Yarros quiz? The useful distinction is whether you want a quick dragon personality match or the official Dragonkind Threshing Day adventure. Both involve choices, but they offer different ways to discover a bond.
If you are looking for Rebecca Yarros’s official Threshing experience, that is Dragonkind. Readers sometimes call it a quiz because you make choices, but its adventure can end in failure and a wait before trying again. The Threshing Quiz on this page focuses on finding a personality match: every completed set of answers gets a result.
| Experience | Your task | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| This Threshing Quiz | Answer 12 personality questions. | A color-and-tail match, an explanation and a downloadable card. No account or cooldown. |
| Our Threshing Day adventure | Explore a story through seven decisions. | Clues, danger and a dragon encounter if you survive. Replay immediately. |
| Rebecca Yarros’s Dragonkind | Enter the official interactive Threshing story. | Email-based entry, choices with consequences and delayed retries after a failed attempt. |
These are separate experiences. Your result here does not change your Dragonkind account or your saved adventure on this site. To reach the official story, open Dragonkind. For missing codes or retry questions, check Rebecca Yarros’s Dragonkind FAQ.
BEFORE YOUR NEXT CHOICE
Threshing Quiz questions, answered
Do I need to read every Fourth Wing book first?
No. Choose the response that feels most like you; this dragon quiz does not test your knowledge. It uses familiar Basgiath settings and basic dragon traits, while leaving out major plot revelations and later-book dragon discoveries.
Can I fail the Threshing Quiz?
No. Finish all twelve Threshing Quiz questions to receive a match. You do not need an account, and there is no retry timer. Choose honestly instead of trying to find a survival walkthrough.
Can I change an answer or take the quiz again?
Yes. Use Back during the Threshing Quiz or edit a choice on the review screen; your other answers stay in place. After the reveal, use Review answers to explore a different decision. Select Retake quiz to start a fresh attempt.
Is this the Rebecca Yarros Threshing Day quiz?
If you mean the official experience, that is Dragonkind. This Threshing Quiz is a separate personality match inspired by Fourth Wing, with its own questions and matching rules. Different results are expected; your match here does not create or change an official result. Use the comparison above to choose the experience you want.
Will I get Tairn, Sgaeyl or Andarna?
You receive a dragon type rather than a named character’s companion. The result pool uses six familiar colors and five adult tail forms. It is a focused selection for this quiz, not every dragon or special case in the series.
Does this dragon quiz tell me my signet?
No. The result covers your dragon color, tail and imagined partnership. A signet is a separate ability and cannot be read from a color alone. There is no playable signet test on this page.
Can I leave and finish later on another device?
Your Threshing Quiz progress is saved in this browser when local storage is available. Return on the same browser and device to continue. It does not sync to an account; clearing browser data or using a private session may remove your saved answers.
Does my shared link include my answers or name?
No. A shared link opens the general page for your dragon type. Your answers and optional card name stay out of that URL. A downloaded card includes the name you choose to put on it, so check the preview before sharing the image.
